Oh no!  Author, Laurie Keller, has a cold and is really sick.  She had to postpone our video conference.  We will try to reschedule our conference with her as soon as possible.

We took our Unit 4 math test today.  It looks like we still need to keep practicing telling time.

During reading, we read a story called "Matthew and Tilly."  We then did a text-to-text connection with that book and "Big Moon Tortilla."    We reviewed silent e at the ends of words and practiced the reading strategies of blending sounds.

We also did our weekly reader about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  We discussed how he made changes in a peaceful way.  We heard part of his speech and looked at pictures of his newly built memorial in Washington D.C.

Who was our president during his 1963 "I Have a Dream"  speech?  If you can write this answer down on a slip of paper and give it to me tomorrow, then you can earn a star for the young Einstein's club.

Maybe someday Ms. Keller will write a book about an author who gets a very bad cold!
