 About Mrs. Crowell

Teaching:
I graduated Suma Cum Laude from The Ohio State University and earned a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in English. I also earned a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on literacy education and diverse settings. Previously, I've taught first grade, fifth grade, P.E., and kindergarten. This will be my 12th year of teaching. You can read my resume below to learn more about my teaching background!  Click the link to find out more about my teaching philosophy.

Why do I teach?  It is that “Ah-ha” moment you see in a child’s eyes, it’s selfish really, I never feel more alive than when I see that spark of curiosity or the look of a child who just figured it out.  I believe I have the most rewarding career.

Interests:
Reading is a favorite past-time and I always have a book with me.  I like to read just about everything.  I always want to learn new things.  This year I will be working toward my National Board Certification.  It is a lot of work but it is an excellent opportunity to critically evaluate my own teaching and keep my teaching methods current.

Family:
I have a wonderful husband of 11 years!  He is supportive, generous, and very smart!  I am one of six children and I am a twin.  No, we don't look alike.  We are fraternal twins.  Most of my siblings are back in Ohio, but some live in Texas.  I also have eight nieces and nephews.

Ohio State University Football

Picture

Don't get me started on college football.  If you are a Michigan alum, I may or may not let you in the classroom during football season, especially around the third week in November.  Penn State and Wisconsin fans are permitted but must say "O.S.U. football rocks" when entering the room.  We will have to work out some agreement to stay civil.  (I hope you realize that I am only kidding, well...just a little.) Here is the OSU football schedule:  Schedule
