I liked how all the presentations are unique. Marley We had fudge after Mia's presentation. Pedro We looked at the mat of presidents for Ago's presentation. Mia used really good props. Elliot I liked how everyone had a different presentation. Lauren M. I did my presentation about Nixon. I felt happy during my presentation. Stefano I liked the way MIa presented her presentation because she used a video. I like the pictures she put in her presentation. I like the words she chose for her presentation. Chiara I did my presentation about Bill Clinton today. He did peace talks. I felt good and proud. Logan I like how Mia put the Ike video in her presentation. Jaimie I like Logan's presentation a lot because it was about Bill Clinton, my 2nd favorite president. Theodore Roosevelt is my favorite president. Josh I practiced my presentation a lot. I did excellent! Ago I liked how Mia's presentation had the commercial. Aden I liked Mia's presentation because she did a lot work. Alfonso I liked the fudge. Theresa People loved my presentation. Mia I liked the movie in Mia's presentation. Carolina I like how everyone thought outside of the box to present their presentation. Miss Marcelin I think the video in Mia's presentation was the funniest video ever. I felt proud after I finished presenting. Nate I felt very excited after I saw Ago's presentation. At math we did a math test! Pedro Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I wonder what kinds of Valentines I'll get. Nate It was Mia's birthday. Ago I played barbies at recess. Chiara It was Mia's B-Day. I liked the cake. It had rasberries. Theresa I played Power Rangers. It was fun! Stefano I had a good day. It was Mia's B-Day. Josh I liked Mia's birthday. It was very fun. Carolina Today was Mia's birthday. We had rasberry cake. Aden We played Power Rangers. We got the bad guy. It was Aden. Alfonso It was Mia's birthday. Marley Today in Spanish we finished our cards. Elliot Today it was Mia's birthday. Logan It was Mia's birthday! Jaimie We went to music and we sang Valentine's Day songs. Lauren M. Our reading buddies went to see the video conference with us. That was the first time I ever met Laurie Keller. Pedro I think Laurie Keller is nice because she showed us so much information. Nate She was nice. She taught us how to draw an otter. Josh We saw her house. She is writing a new book about Arnie the Doughnut. Theresa I liked Laurie Keller because she is funny. Chiara We asked Laurie Keller questions. Logan She told us that she was writing a chapter book about Arnie the Doughnut and an alien jelly filled doughnut. Marley She lives in Michigan. Jaimie She likes wriitng outdoors. Aden The most types of books she has written are picture books. Alfonso She told us about Do Unto Otters. It took her 5 years to write it. Stefano She doesn't have a favorite book she has written. Mia She wrote the bear as the grumpy neighbor because she always a grumpy character in her stories. Elliot We drew with her. Carolina We drew otters. Here is a quick catch up on all of the wonderful things happening in class: We are working on antonyms, double consonants, making text-to-text connections, and using context clues to define words. For math, we are learning about place value through games and also we are learning how to use the symbols <, , >, and = to compare numbers. Here are some highlights about today: In Library, we read a book. Josh At libarary we made Chinese Lanterns. Stefano I learned to make numbers using Base 10 blocks. Carolina We learnd about China. We used our base 10 blocks. Ago Today we made a lantern. It was fun. Pedro We made lanterns because it is close to Chinese New Year. Lauren H. In library we learned about Chinese New Year. Nate At library we made lanterns. Lauren M. We made lanterns at library. Chiara During math I used my whiteboard and added base 10 blocks. Aden Today we made lanterns. Gung Hay Fat Choy. Happy Chinese New Year! Stefano Today in social studies we learned about Chinese New Year. Gung Hay Fat Choy is how you say Happy New Year in Chinese. Nate We learned about China. Ago I played cats at recess. Chiara My sister Lindsay, she is in 3rd grade, she is 9 now. Mia At recess I played with Theresa with ropes. Lauren M. We had Spanish. We wrote the numbers. Alfonso In social studies we learned about Chinese New Year. Logan Today we did art. We did our houses. Pedro We learned about Chinese New Year. Jaimie Today we made dragons at social studies. Oh no! Author, Laurie Keller, has a cold and is really sick. She had to postpone our video conference. We will try to reschedule our conference with her as soon as possible. We took our Unit 4 math test today. It looks like we still need to keep practicing telling time. During reading, we read a story called "Matthew and Tilly." We then did a text-to-text connection with that book and "Big Moon Tortilla." We reviewed silent e at the ends of words and practiced the reading strategies of blending sounds. We also did our weekly reader about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We discussed how he made changes in a peaceful way. We heard part of his speech and looked at pictures of his newly built memorial in Washington D.C. Who was our president during his 1963 "I Have a Dream" speech? If you can write this answer down on a slip of paper and give it to me tomorrow, then you can earn a star for the young Einstein's club. Dr. Davies read to us today. He read "Grandpa Gazillions Number Yard" by Laurie Keller. We can't wait to video chat with her tomorrow! Here are out thoughts on Dr. Davies and Laurie Keller: When we saw the book. It was fun! Pedro Dr. Davies read a book to us. Josh My favorite number is 7 because I'm 7 years old. In a book, it is about numbers. Ago Dr. Davies read a book to us. Alfonso I wonder what she would say to answer my question. Mia It was a very good myster with Dr. Davies as mystery reader!! LOL Lauren H. Tomorrow we are having a conference with Laurie Keller. Stefano Can't wait to meet Laurie Keller! Nate We are going to have a video conference with Laurie Keller. Lauren M. I like the part when Grandpa Gazillionused the fifteen as tweezers .
